Brianna Prutsman, shift manager at the Ben & Jerry's Ice Cream store in McKinney, pictured on left, serves a cup ice cream to Mary Lessmann of McKinney. Lessmann was one of more than 600 people who got a free scoop of ice cream on Nov. 4.
Ben & Jerry's stores throughout the United States gave out a free scoop of ice cream to people who had a "I Voted" sticker on their clothing or presented it to the staff to celebrate people's right to vote. Starbucks Coffee cafes in McKinney and throughout America also gave patrons a free cup of brewed coffee if they had a "I voted" sticker to encourage people to vote.
