McKinney Pediatrics breaks ground on new facility

McKinney Pedriatics is celebrating its 25 years of providing medical care to children by opening a new facility on Lake Forest Drive.

Dr. Robert Neal opened the practice 25 years ago, and the office is currently located in the two-story yellow house near downtown McKinney.

"Twenty-five years providing pediatric care to the children of the McKinney area is quite a privilege," says Neal said. 

The office will be located at 1872 N. Lake Forest, the southeast corner of Hwy. 380 and Lake Forest, across from the new hospital that Baylor Health Care System is planning begin constructing in McKinney sometime in 2010.

McKinney's growth has inspired Neal and his partner, Dr. Dan Vernier to celebrate with their vision to continue to deliver the best pediatric patient care while improving their business operations, Neal said.

After nearly 10 years at their current location, McKinney Pediatrics is looking to the future with the location of a new office, Neal said.

The doctors and nurses will continue to care for their existing patients and welcome all new patients at thr new location. The new faclility will include new lobby space, which will allow sick and well patients to be separated while waiting in a warm, welcoming and comfortable setting, Neal said. 

Since the care of patients at McKinney Pediatrics extends to the age of 18, a separate waiting room for adolescents and teenagers will help them to feel that they are an important asset to the office, Neal said.  The child-friendly, home setting will have big screen TVs, a modern feel and plenty of parking within steps of the front door, Neal said.

"We have a strong presence in the McKinney area, and the other providers and I at McKinney Pediatrics want to continue doing what we do best, helping children," Vernier said.

H & S Pharmacy will continue leasing space and providing quick, convenient prescription service to the patients at McKinney Pediatrics, Neal said.
