Main Street prepares for not your ordinary fund-raiser with Nach-O Ordinary Fund-raiser on April 23 at Spoon's Cafe

Downtown McKinney is getting ready to raise some money for the McKinney Main Street Program during a not so ordinary fund-raiser that will feature a nacho cheese fountain, assortment of toppings, musical entertainment, a raffle with a $2,500 prize, and fun for all.

The event, dubbed the Nacho-O Ordinary Fund-Raiser will be held at Spoon’s Café and Garage, 100 E. Louisiana St. By selling tickets to the fund-raiser, McKinney Main Street will raise money to use towards several of the next free events for McKinney residents and visitors to enjoy in downtown McKinney.

Along with dinner and contributing to a free community event, the big draw to this first ever fundraiser will include a raffle for a chance to win one of two $2,500 shopping spree prize packages in downtown McKinney.

“We wanted to do something fun and different to raise money for our downtown events, and we know our guests enjoy having a fun, casual atmosphere unlike most fundraising events. At the Nach-O Ordinary Fund-raiser, we can all relax, enjoy live entertainment and festive food, and just have fun in the downtown community,” said Main Street Program Director Ty Lake.

Entertaining activities at the fund-raiser include an interactive prize wheel, where everyone can try their luck and go home as a winner. More than 30 businesses in downtown McKinney have contributed to the $2,500 shopping spree prize packages and giveaways.

Raffle tickets are available for $5 each or six for $25. Tickets to the event are available for purchase in the amount of $25 per person and includes a nacho bar with all the trimmings, dessert and non-alcohol beverages. A cash bar including beer and margaritas will also be available.

The chance of winning the $2,500 prize package shopping spree is based on the overall number of eligible entries. Participants must be a U.S. citizen and 18 years of age or older. Proceeds will benefit McKinney Main Street . The drawing will take place between 5:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. on event date and participants are not required to be present to win.
