Graduating students of all three McKinney ISD high schools will have the chance to earn money to help them kick start their new lives they're embarking on at the sixth annual McKinney Project Graduation.

Held after the McKinney North High School graduation ends after 8:30 p.m. on June 5, McKinney Project Graduation will provide graduating seniors and their high school aged guests a safe haven to celebrate their graduation from public school at Myers Park and Event Center.

Deana McGonagill, McKinney Project Graduation Director said that McKinney Project Graduation provides a safe environment for graduating seniors and a guest where drugs and alcohol are not present.

This year McKinney Project Graduation organizers are expecting more than 1,200 students to attend the event. The event will be held overnight until 7 a.m. on June 6 and graduating seniors will be able to keep their cash earnings they win during casino games and from prizes if they stay throughout the entire event.

To help ensure a drug and alcohol free event students may not re-enter the facility after they leave Myers Park. Event organizers are expecting to raise at least $100,000.
